How it works
Enter a start date, a whole number of working days and whether to move forward or backward. By default, counting starts after the selected date in the chosen direction. Enable the start-date switch to count that date if it is a working day. A weekend or excluded start is still skipped. Your custom calendar is shared with the business-day counter. The result is a date-only planning calculation, not an automatic interpretation of a contract or statutory deadline.
Formula
Move one calendar day at a time in the selected direction. Count only working weekdays that are not custom exclusions. Stop when the requested number of working days is reached. Zero returns the start unchanged.
Example
Adding ten working days after October 21, 2026 reaches November 4 with Saturday/Sunday weekends and no exclusions. Excluding October 26 moves the result to November 5. Subtracting one working day from Monday, October 26 reaches Friday, October 23. If you count a working start, a request for one day returns that start date. Assumptions and limitations
Dates are calendar dates, not timestamps. Custom dates on non-working weekdays are skipped only once.
Frequently asked questions
Are public holidays included automatically?
No. Add the dates you want to exclude. Custom weekends and exclusions are your own planning rules, not an official holiday calendar.
Are my settings uploaded?
No. Calendar rules and weekly shifts remain in this browser. Clear this site’s data to remove them. CSV exports are created on your device.
Does this apply payroll or legal deadline rules?
No. The tools calculate according to your explicit inputs. They do not infer jurisdiction, overtime, public holidays or contract-specific counting rules.
